Call for Consultants: KM/Communications Strategists (Roster Opportunity)

 

Background

Panagora Group, a woman-owned, small business providing novel and integrated solutions in global health and international development, seeks Knowledge Management and Communications (KMC) Consultants with various levels of experience to serve on a roster for short-term strategic assignments support the USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project based out of Crystal City, VA.

 

The KM/C Consultant will support Panagora’s Subcontract with Chemonics International for the GHSC-PSM Project. This project provides a comprehensive array of services for U.S. Government health commodity procurement and related supply chain assistance. It is the primary vehicle through which USAID will procure and provide health commodities to partner countries and provide technical assistance to improve countries’ management of the supply chain for such commodities, supporting global health initiatives in HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal and child health, and reproductive health.

 

The KM/C consultant will support the project’s internal and external KMC activities across a 33+ country, global portfolio by providing both on-site and remote technical assistance. The specialist will support on-going annual activities while ensuring quality and consistency across countries and support execution of planned activities included in multiple country KMC strategies.

 

Scope of Work/Responsibilities of the KM/C Consultant could include:

 

Knowledge Management (KM):

  • Conduct remote and on-site technical assistance to support specific project CLA activities, including webinars, presentations, events, online discussions, which must be archived and searchable
  • Help support and implement the project’s comprehensive KM strategy and framework based on state-of-the-art theory and practice, specifically focusing on process improvement to foster collaboration, learning, and data-based decision-making
  • Work with project’s full-time KM Specialist and country M&E teams to implement Learning Agendas, and facilitate cultivation, standardization and dissemination of knowledge artifacts
  • Assist development of technical publications, reports, learning briefs, updates, newsletters, presentations, videos, posters, and social media content as needed

 

Communications:

  • Conduct remote and on-site technical assistance in developing communications campaigns and country-specific communications strategies
  • Support production and quality control of numerous project deliverables, reports, and other materials
  • Help manage branding and messaging, and ensure communication product consistency and quality
  • Support multimedia content for the project’s global website
  • Help to develop and implement information and content management strategies
  • Contribute to development of KMC products including technical publications, reports, learning briefs, updates/newsletters, brochures, presentations, videos, posters, social media content

 

  • Carry out other related tasks as assigned

 

Consultant Qualifications:

The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform this consultancy assignment.

 

  • 3-10 years demonstrated experience in communications, knowledge management, and/or public relations
  • Master’s in communications, knowledge management, or public health preferred
  • Ability to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for 2-4 week assignments
  • Previous international experience working in lower- and middle-income countries
  • Demonstrated Experience with USAID and its CLA approach
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development and design for complex projects
  • Up-to-date knowledge of KM technologies and standards, and an understanding of the constraints and benefits of different approaches and technologies
  • Familiarity with the international public health sphere and USAID public health programming
  • Impeccable interpersonal and management skills to support team development and cross-team collaboration in highly complex structures involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and client groups
  • Excellent attention to detail and track record of producing high quality documents/products
  • Strong planning, management, facilitation, interpersonal, and communications skills
  • Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multicultural groups in a developing country environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States
