Independent Graphic Designer


Project: USAID Global Health Supply Chain Project


Project Background: USAID’s Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management project (UASID GHSC PSM) provides commodity procurement and logistics services, strengthens supply chain systems, and promotes commodity security. We support USAID programs and presidential initiatives in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, focusing on HIV/AIDS, malaria, and family planning/reproductive health commodities.


Position Summary: Working with a highly creative team, the independent Graphic Designer will:


  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to develop conceptual ideas around project’s objectives
  • Design and develop project infographics, charts, maps, and other visual content for proposals, publications, reports, marketing materials, and other documents
  • Determine the best way to present data, tell stories, and convey messages to different audiences using qualitative and quantitative insights
  • Design and build publication-ready data visualizations using unstructured and structured data


This position supports short-term projects and is located remotely. This role requires a creative eye and the ability to produce graphical products on strict deadlines.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-6 years of experience in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Mac and PC proficient
  • Strong grasp of Adobe Creative Suite products including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as building & customizing templates for MS Office
  • Desired fluency with data visualization software such as Tableau, Quikview, and other business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with USAID branding requirements; exposure to global health
  • Demonstrated success in planning and implementing data visualization projects from start to finish, with strong ability to turn abstract concepts and messages into compelling content
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Self-starter, with an open mind to creative direction
  • Attention to detail with pixel perfection
  • Approval to work in the United States
